October is Eye Health Month
Red Deer welcomes Eye Health Month
You may not see serious eye disease coming, but your optometrist will. Even if you have clear vision, only a regular, complete eye exam can ensure that your eyes are healthy, because some eye diseases can cause permanent damage without warning or symptoms. Each year, the Canadian Association of Optometrists hosts Eye Health Canada Month, a national public awareness campaign which highlights the importance of eye health and regular eye examinations.
During October, we join optometrists across the country to promote routine eye exams and healthy eyes in a wide variety of ways, including displaying in-office public education materials, interviews with the media, and speaking to schools, community groups, and clubs. At the national level, a major awareness campaign including news releases and member resources is launched in October, and a number of public educational materials are developed in order to assist members and provincial associations in their efforts.
If you would like an optometrist to speak to your organization please call our office.
Doctors EyeCare wishes you a Happy Eye Health Month and encourages you to speak with your optometrist!
